{Thankful Tuesday} Do What You Are

A few weeks ago I was introduced to this amazing book by one of my mentors, Michelle Ward, called Do What You Are, by Paul Tieger and Barbara Barron. It discusses career types with your personality type.

Have you heard of the Myers Briggs Personality Test? I think I first took it when I was at my nutrition school, but I have this feeling that I took it in high school but just can't remember too clearly if I did.  You basically answer a bunch of questions and then your results will be put into a category and you'll then have a result of four letters.  Mine came out as: I (Introverted) N (Intuition) F (Feelings) P (Perception).  But I'll have you know, I used to be a partier!  I was a little bummed not to be standing with all the partiers at my nutrition school.  Must get back into the category ASAP! LOL!  :)

So what does all this mean? Well, at first I wasn't really sure.  I read through my results at my nutrition school and said, yes, this is pretty much me (except for the partier part...ha!), but I never really looked at it again until recently.  Since you know from yesterday, I've been a little torn in my "career" direction.  So when I found Michelle Ward, and her post on this book, I knew I had to give it a read.

Why? Because the book discusses careers that are a perfect fit for your Myers Briggs results. I figured I'd give my INFP a whirl one more time. Last week I dove into it.  I haven't read the entire book yet, but I did read the section on INFP, and boy was I blown away!  Everything I've been moving toward was written in this book.  WOW!  It felt pretty amazing to see this in print.  And, hands down, the best explained INFP ever!

Since it's Thankful Tuesdays here on my blog, I first have to say, I'm SO grateful for finding this book. I feel that it helped me gain more clarity in the direction I'm headed in.

And, I'm pretty excited to keep it and give to my daughter when her time comes for needing more clarity on her direction in life.   Second, I'm SO grateful I wrote my post yesterday on creating my dream.  I ended up reading something yesterday on how we label foods good and bad.  This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart (I'll let you in on a little secret: I'm not for it!).

 After I read it, ideas and ah-ha's came flowing in like never before.

I called my mother right away, and soon after, I felt CLEAR and READY to move forward in my business that includes holistic nutrition and holistic photography. I couldn't believe it!  I've been searching for this clarity and FEELING since I got pregnant.  The written word, no matter if it's typed or handwritten is VERY powerful.  I'm SO thankful for that.

Even though I had some amazing clarity and a-ha moments yesterday, doesn't mean that I'm stopping there. I'm picking up today, where I left off yesterday, in creating my life!  I can't wait to share my journey, my feelings, my clarity, my business and my programs with you all.  It's going to be A-MAZ-ING stuff...so stay tuned!

Have you ever done anything or read anything inspiring that left you with a little more clarity or a big a-ha?   Did you feel thankful for it?  I'd love to hear! :)

{life is YOU}
