Weekend Savors | Ocean Fun, A Curious Boy + Lots of Color

Because the week is filled with hectic schedules and not as much family time as I'd like, I love love LOVE to savor our family togetherness through the lens on the weekends. This is the most special time because we're all together the entire weekend and being with my family (and capturing it all) is my number one passion of all. :)

This LONG weekend (woohooo! hooray for 3 day weekends, right!!), I savored (through my iPhone lens), my new Rusty bracelet that I had made from my friend Christine, at Hip Honey Bee.  I received the package on Friday night and I was brought to tears.  Just having him on my wrist like this is just perfect and brings so much happiness to my heart.

It couldn't have come at a better time...it's been a month since his passing...honestly, I'm still can't believe he hasn't been physically with us for 4 weeks now.  So, knowing I can look down and see him, just makes me feel even more awesome vibes that he truly is still with us.

Next up, we had a big family down in the city.  As always, I just LOVE savoring the drive over the water.  I'm SO thankful D is in the Coast Guard, because I could never, EVER, live far from the ocean!! It truly nourishes my soul. :):)

I always love seeing the NOLA city buildings on our way in.  I'm ALWAYS reminded when C was 2 and how excited she'd get when she'd see them.  She'd scream out, "buildings!! buildings!! buildings!!"  Although, now she knows that's where Daddy works, so she says, "there's Daddy's work!" instead. :)

This billboard is back again!!! That means it's Mardi Gras time.  It was up last year at this time, too.  The reason WHY I snapped it, is because we were supposed to have Luca at the hospital on this billboard.  He gonna be a , "throw me something, Mister!"  baby, but, Hurricane Isaac gave us other plans...plans that I was SO happy about.  He's a Florida baby now...but, I'm pretty sure he's gonna LOVE those NOLA beads when he gets older...just like his big sis does! :)

He almost fell asleep on the drive...ALMOST!!  Ha! LOVE his sleepy face!!

I always LOVE this drive in the city.  It's hard for me to explain the city of NOLA...you have some really cool places...and then some really not-so-cool places...the next block over.  But this street, I just love it...the buildings...true NOLA style.  And, see that tree...pretty soon it's gonna be filled with beads!! Ha! :)

We took the kiddos to the Aquarium.  I can't even remember the last time we went...it may have been when C turned 4.  So she was SUPER excited.

Usually, she only wants feed the  birds and get her picture taken on the fake frog.  She never wanted to see the REAL, LIVE fish.  Well, this time, she was all about he fish...HOORAY!! Especially Nemo and Dory.  I'm SO glad, because I LOVE to stop and soak them in.  They're just beautiful!!

Then she had her fun in the rainforest...can you see her up there???  Man, she LOVES this area!! All because of her LOVE for Tarzan!! She tells us over and over that this IS Tarzan's home and she gets SO excited and runs and jumps all around. She's spend all day in here if she could. LOVE!!

Luca and I had fun on the elevator.  I just LOVED his face while it was moving.  "What in the heck is going on????"  LOL!!

Then more fun for C...playing, jumping and getting her hands wet to try and pet the sting rays.

And, the best part of all...well, at least for me anyway...D and C went to the gift shop and Luca and I sat and watched the sharks, fish and my FAVORITE...the sea turtle...in the big, gigantic, tank.  I could sit here all day and just watch them swim around.

Aaaaaaaahhhhh!! It's SO calming!!

We then headed to Cowbell for lunch.  One of our favorite places to eat.  If you're ever in the area, you gotta try it!! The day was beautiful, so outside seating was AWESOME!!

I couldn't help but watch the elderly couple across from us.  Every time I see an elderly couple like this, I'm always reminded of my grandparents and how much I miss them.  But, it warms my heart and makes me smile and brings back all the awesome memories I have of them.

Then, on the way home, D got a work call, so he got off the highway and took the other bridge back to the house.  This was the first time I had driven this bridge...it's right next to the highway, but it leads to the other side of town, away from where we needed to go.  Oh, I really LOVED being on this bridge.  I couldn't help but think of my LOVE for Key West and living on the island, Guam.  There's nothing like driving on a road that has ocean water on each side.

The next day was spent keeping this guy outta of trouble! Oh yes...he's a computer keyboard and mouse fan.  If it's just a little bit to the edge, he's on it...oh, and that chair...yeah, it has to stay on its side, on the floor, while he's awake.

I thought his big sis was coloring...BUT, she left for a second and look who I caught being sneaky!!! He's lucky he's CUTE!!! :)

And he's already trying to open doors!! HELP!!! :):)

Once he calmed for a bit, he sat with me and held my hand while watching his favorite show, Little Einstein's.  Heart melting!!!!

Yesterday, I got in some doodle time!! OH this one was FUN!! And it truly had me in the "calm" zone for quite some time.  LOVE that!!!

And then, we put up princess in Princess Camille's room, hoping this would keep her in bed all night, but, nope...she still made her way with us in the middle of the night. ;)   But, she was SO excited to have her princess friends on her wall, next to her bed.  Jumping and singing as loud as she could.  And, yes...she has on her brother's sleep jumper and her Ariel, Halloween costume, under it.  And, yes, she dressed herself.  :):)

We ended the day with some coloring and frozen corn. Yep!! Luca is all about frozen corn these days.  But, this was the first day he colored and he like it!! YAY!! Gotta be like his big sis. :):)

And, to end it all...there's nothing better than SAVORing your husband having some Daddy-Daughter time, out on the patio.  :):)

So tell me...

What did you SAVOR this weekend?

Until next time...

Life IS so so good...SAVOR it up!
