Our First Family Snow Day (Part One)
A few weeks ago, we had our first snow experience.
The kids were SO excited (because this was the FIRST time they've seen snow!) And, the adults were, too!
D and I haven't lived in snow since our days in Williamsburg, VA...8 years ago!
And because of that, we headed out right away to go play in it. Even though it wasn't much snow, it was SO fun to be out in it while it was lightly coming down, pretty much all day.
I truly have forgotten how peaceful and beautiful snow is. It was SO nice to BE in it again! It makes me smile SO big! :)
This winter life is so very foreign to me since I grew up in South Florida (West Palm Beach!!), but, gosh, I'm just loving it! We all are!! :)
I could watch this view all day! :)
This was the first time he was cold. He never wants to wear his jackets, hats or gloves, but, as soon as he picked up the snow, he finally said, "I'M COLD!!" while sticking his hands in his pockets.
Oh that first time I've seen snow smile!! The best!
Getting snowball ready!
And, snow angel ready, too!
Nothing like evidence of a good snow angel and the face of someone who just threw a snowball at her Daddy. :)
Our little snow girl. Yeah...she doesn't like the snow at all. ;) ;)
Then he was off to go see if the neighbor friends were coming out.
"Luca! Come back here!" Not! :)
Then she joined him.
She didn't stay long.
Because there was too much snowball fun to be had.
I miss capturing her like this...in her zone, exploring the world, for the first time. Reminds me of when I used to follow her around with my camera while she was experiencing life for the first time as a toddler. Ahhhh...memories! :)
But, now, she's 8!!! It truly does fly by! But...still LOTS of new experiences to be had!! Woohoo!! :)
Yay! He came back to join in the fun!!
And then our little santa helpers found D's car to be a great snowball making tool.
Get him, C!!
Great form!!
Watch out! He's gonna get you back!!
But instead...
He got me instead!!! Ha!!
And then I had to go in because my camera got all wet and I had to go dry it off.
Stay tuned...I have lots more to share in Part 2 of our First Family Snow Day!

Until next time...
See something that makes you stop and smile. Grab your camera!! It'll slow you down, pull you into the present moment even more and have you SAVORing your JOY feeling even more!! And most of all, it will allow you to SEE things that you may have passed by (like all the amazing snow in the neighborhood beyond the house!). The camera...it's powerful...especially when it comes to JOY! :)
That's WHY I take pictures!! The camera is one of my favorite creative tools that easily pulls me out of my to-do list head and helps me SAVOR (the feeling of) everything that makes me stop, smile and lights me UP with LOVE (something that's hard for me to do when my mind is running five miles ahead or behind the present moment)
