Savoring This Moment | The Joy of Play

Life is crazy busy and it's EASY to stay focused on the to-do's of it all and miss the littlest moments that mean the most.  My camera is my tool to slow down, reconnect with the present moment and SAVOR who my kids are right now in their current stage of life AND what I love and brings me joy in my busy mama life.  When life is busy and I happen to see something that lights me up from within with a happy smile, I stop, grab my camera (iPhone or SLR - it doesn't matter because what does matter is that I capture the moment...), click what I see and savor the FEELING of that JOY so I can keep connecting to what fills my heart up with love and SO my kids will always have a visual reminder of WHO they are and not disconnect from themselves as they grow older.

There are SO many times in the day when these two really start playing together.  And when they do, I'm always reminded to stop and SAVOR all the joy that is filling up my house with laughter, smiles and SO much fun!!

By the time I get my SLR or iPhone, so I can savor this FEELING forever they are either done having their play-together-fun OR lil' bro see's my BIG camera and then just stops everything and darts right over to me and grabs my camera.  (So, yeah, lately, the iPhone is way easier to capture the candid moments because he doesn't seem to care about that camera at all...ha!!)

The other day, I was thrilled that I was able to catch them in their JOY of playing fun.  Ever since Luca got his own chair for Christmas, they've been doing this...A LOT!

And, by this, I mean...running around the house chasing each other and then ending the chase by running and jumping into their chairs.  I'm actually surprised they're both in their own chairs, because usually, they like to sit in each others, instead of their own. ;)

And, then, a second later, lil' bro spotted me and began to run over to grab my camera.  :):)

I'm SO glad he did this and I was able to snap it, because right now, in his stage of life, he has the biggest JOY smile on his face when he runs around the house like this.

I've been wanting to capture how he's full of JOY running around like this for SO long!!  I mean, really, isn't this how life is supposed to be lived...daily...with one BIG smile on our face...all.day.long!!  Um, yes!!  I think so!! Thank you, Luca, for this daily reminder!!

So tell me...

What what moments have you SAVORed today?

Until next time...

Life IS so full of joy...SAVOR it up!
