Savoring | A Summer Lovin' Moment

The word of the summer for BOTH of them has been "STOP!!!"

And in their screaming voice, too! OMGosh! Not fun! Not fun at all! Ha! #siblinglife

So just when I think that magical moments like this don't exist anymore of them together, loving each other and, for the win, being nice to each other...

Like lil' bro reading a book to his big sis and she happily wants to listen and even help him with some words that he's getting stuck on...

You bet I'm gonna STOP focusing on my to-do list and run and grab my camera to SAVOR them instead!!

Because one, it's the BEST feeling in the world when they get

along and two, he never, EVER, wants to read AND three...

It feels like it's been forever since I've slowed down to SAVOR their sweet, sweet sibling moments like this because all I feel like I'm doing is saying "STOP!!!" to BOTH of them (in my screaming voice at times, too, but never, ever, as loud as theirs...wink! wink!) over and over and over and over again, because, yeah, nobody never, ever wants to listen!! Ha!

But, what I'm reminded of the most when I look at this moment that I captured is that I have to remember, even on my most frazzled and most stressed-out days....there's ALWAYS something to SAVOR!

I just have to slow down to SEE it (or, shall I say, focus on!...thanks to my handy-dandy camera!) them more...something I haven't been doing enough of lately.

Oh, summer break! I love ya, but then I hate ya!

But, today...I love ya even more because you're showing me how much in need I am of slowing down and connecting back to my heart, that my kiddos DO love each other AND that I've been way more focused on the hard stuff (like how many times a day we ALL yell out STOP!!), rather than the good stuff (like the moments when everyone is oh, so loving toward each other!).

I needed this reminder...especially since today is the start of our last full week of summer together!

See something that makes you stop and smile. Grab your camera!! It'll slow you down, pull you into the present moment even more and have you SAVORing your JOY feeling even more!! And most of all, it will allow you to SEE things that you may have passed by (like lil' bro happily reading to big sis!). The camera...it's powerful...especially when it comes to JOY! :)

That's WHY I take pictures!! The camera is one of my favorite creative tools that easily pulls me outta my frazzled + overwhelmed mama head so I can fully SAVOR (the feeling of) everything that makes me stop, smile and lights me UP with LOVE (something that's hard for me to do when my mind is running five miles ahead or behind the present moment)
