Creativity Is on FIRE Right Now!

Even though there’s SO much darkness in the world right now there is SO much light shining through!

And one of those lights is CREATIVITY!

CREATIVITY is on fire right now!!

Chalk art is EVERYWHERE
People are singing together from their balconies
College bands and musicians and broadway singers are zooming together from their homes and making the most incredible music
Teacher, birthday and bridal shower car parades are making lots of FUN noise in neighborhoods
Video birthday messages are being made
Neighbors are dancing in their driveways while staying 6 feet away from each other
People are figuring out how to exercise at home
People are cooking and baking and going sourdough crazy
Teachers are coming up with ways on how to make learning fun during a not-so-fun time (my friend who teaches 5th grade is killing it right now in this department…every day I look forward to seeing her lesson for her students because she always starts out doing something really funny that goes with her theme of the day…it’s been incredible to witness!)
Parents are figuring out how to home school their children while working from home AND while keeping their house together
Restaurants are cooking up family meals and figuring out ways to still operate for their customers…curbside pick-up, delivery and some are even going to neighborhoods to sell their food.
People are knitting masks to help others
Musicians are going live and streaming their music to help UPlift others and to raise money for people in need
People are finding ways to give food and resources to our healthcare workers who are working non-stop on the frontlines and who work in any department in healthcare
Comedians are keeping their shows going from home to help us continue to feel UPlifted during a time when we sure don’t feel that way
Tik Tok is going off!!!
People are changing their business to accommodate our new normal
Scientists are working hard to make vaccines and medicines that will help the virus
Healthcare is creating ways to make more room for those who are sick and there’s not enough room in the hospital
People are banging pots and pans at 7 pm to honor healthcare workers
Hotels are lighting up their windows to say thank you

And SO much more!

My creativity has even skyrocketed, too!

Wanna know why?

Because CREATIVITY blooms in stillness!

Ever since the world has stopped our minds have been able to slow down because they’re not filled with all the places we need to be and all the things that we need to get done.

Basically, they’re not running a mile a minute with everything that we need to do outside of our homes.

Sure we have things to do (like work from home and homeschool our kids!) and places to go (like the grocery store)!

But right now we are DOing WAY LESS than we ever have before and because of that, our left-brain mind is getting a much-needed break (because that’s the side that keeps us in our TO-DO list mode!) and giving our right brain (the CREATIVE side!) some much-needed love and nourishment.

When our left brain mind slows down our right brain (CREATIVE!) mind gets to come out and play!

And when it comes out to play it is so healing!

And that’s EXACTLY what’s happening TODAY!! And it is SO AMAZING to see!!

Yes, it sucks that the world has stopped, but gosh, it’s pushed us like crazy to connect to our inner CREATIVE selves.

In my opinion, CREATIVITY has NOT been getting the LOVE and attention that it deserves because society has been spinning in a very fast-paced left brain (fear, doubt, worry, comparison, separation, keeping us safe by not crossing the road when a car is coming, standardized testing, structure, etc.) dominant way for YEARS!

And now that the world has literally stopped CREATIVITY is FINALLY able to shine brighter than ever!

Creativity is in ALL of us! It’s positively powerful and it rises us up!! And it connects us!!

I think we’ve all been living our lives on autopilot before this and this virus came and shook us up so we could stop, connect within and connect more the creativity the lives inside of us!!

It’s there! It’s always there in each and every one of us…no matter what is going on outside of us!!

I know for me…my creativity is skyrocketing because I’m more still as well. I’m home all day now…not racing out the door…not thinking a lot about school for my kids...not sitting in carline.

And my CREATIVITY is there…it’s always there…I just have to get still to connect with it more!

I feel SO lucky that we get to live this time with technology because if it wasn’t for technology, I’m not sure I would‘ve seen all the CREATIVITY that’s been unfolding.

Because gosh, I truly believe with all my heart that it’s CREATIVITY that’s keeping us afloat during this difficult time and its CREATIVITY that will heal us all and get us through this!

I’m hoping that after this is all said and done that CREATIVITY continues to SHINE its light BRIGHTLY through us (like its been since quarantine life started!) for many, MANY, years to come, (instead of staying so hidden and buried before all of this started!).

Because the one thing that I know for sure about CREATIVITY is that it’s AMAZING at dissolving fear, doubt, worry and separation into love, beauty, faith and connected-ness.

And right now (and every day!) we sure do NEED it!
