We're All ONE in LOVE

I love these words from Above and Beyond’s set in Washington state at the Gorge Amphitheater from two years ago that goes PERFECTLY with what’s going on today (I’ve been listening to it a lot these days!)

“We all come from all corners of this blue planet.

We all come in all colors, shapes and sizes.

We believe in many different things.

So it might be all too easy to think we are more divided than we actually are.

With your heart and mind open.

You’ll realise we share much more than what divides us.

Just go and find that place.

There is a place we call common ground.”

And to me, that common ground is LOVE!

I believe that COVID-19 is here to open my eyes even more to this!

Because I believe that underneath our outside labels…

the color of our skin, our religious or spiritual beliefs, our political views, our gender, our sexual orientation, the language we speak, the country we live in, our age, our height, our career, the schools our kids go to, mother, father, daughter, son, aunt, uncle, grandmother, grandfather, dog mom, dog dad or whichever animal you raise…

we are all ONE in LOVE!!!

Yes, this virus is deadly across the globe, but gosh, for me, at the same time, its shown me even more to what’s most important of all…GLOBAL LOVE!!

Because I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who wants this virus to go away so it doesn’t affect my health, my husband’s health, my kid’s health and everyone‘a health across the globe.

Am I right?

I believe that COVID-19 is here to show us that we are ALL more connected than we think we are and that it’s time to quiet the noise of all the ways we keep ourselves divided with others with all the external (different!) labels we put on ourselves and that can keep us separate from (or better than!) others.

I believe that COVID-19 is here to remind us that underneath all those differences we see externally on a daily basis that…

We are ALL. human!

We all have human bodies!

We all have beating hearts!

We all have organs to keep our bodies functioning!

We all want our bodies to be healthy!

We all want our loved ones to be healthy!

We all want to live until we’re old and gray!

We all want our lives to be filled with LOVE!

no matter what country we live in on the planet and no matter what language we speak and no matter what our beliefs are!

I know it’s reminding me of this every single day!

Yes, we’re all different on the outside and yes we all have different opinions, different talents, different gifts, different languages we speak and different countries we live in.

But gosh, what I’ve seen more than anything through all fo this so far is how much more connected we are than divided!!

I believe that the things that connect us HEAVILY outweigh the things that divide us!

Yes, this virus is showing that we ALL have human bodies with the same heart that beats all day long and night for us AND that we ALL have the same internal organs that keep us alive and well all day long and night AND that we ALL have a brain that allows us to think about how we want to live our lives and what we believe in.

But this virus is ALSO showing how living a quarantine life connects us ALL to what we LOVE even more!

Our families, our home’s, helping others, being kind to others, the job we go to every day, school, school events, school field trips, our teachers, summer camps, internships, shopping for groceries and everything is in stock, playgrounds, parks, hanging with friends, HUGGING!!, shopping at the mall, getting our haircut, going out to eat at restaurants, going to live concerts, going to events, traveling to see family and friends, family vacations, date nights, traveling to other countries, going to the beach, going to national parks, going to music festivals, going to church, graduations, volunteering, going to the gym, quiet time when the kids are at school, play dates, book clubs, playing sports, watching sports, team sports, road trips, going to the zoo, going to the aquarium, going to parades, going to theme parks, going to resorts and hotels, going swimming at the local pool, going to the trampoline park, birthday parties (birthday car parades are pretty awesome, too!), anniversary parties, dancing at the club, having a beer at a cozy bar, seeing a movie at the movie theater, watching a show on Broadway and SO much more!!!

So not only do we ALL have a LOVE connection inside of us…we also have a LOVE connection outside of us, too…no matter our language, where we live and our different beliefs and views about things.

Yes, those differences are normal…that’s part of being human, too!!

But as society seemed to be spinning out of control and not looking as if it was ever going to slow down anytime soon (since 1918!), I believe that this virus came to literally make us stop so (just like Above and Beyond said!) we could FINALLY open our hearts and minds and realize that WE SHARE MUCH MORE than what divides us (because our fast-paced, external labeling, I’m better than you, living wasn’t helping us in this department at all!).

And right now, while living that GLOBAL quarantined life, I sure can SEE and FEEL way more than ever that our common (GLOBAL!) ground is LOVE!!!

And I AM SOUL GRATEFUL!!!!

I sure hope that I’m not the only one who has connected to this and I sure hope that once this is all over and we go on with our fast-paced lives again that we ALL can continue to live life knowing deep within us that WE ARE ALL CONNECTED IN LOVE way more than we are divided!!

Gosh, what amazing (GLOBAL!) life that would BE!!!

Because I know for me, when I’m old and gray and I’m looking back on my life, I don’t want to have any regrets because I lived my life way more focused on what divides me than connects me.

NO WAY, JOSE!!!

I want to look back on my life and smile BIG because I know deep within my heart that I lived my life way more focused and connected in love!!

Because LIFE IS LOVE!!!
